Music marketing with a heart of gold

In January of 2020, I created Wang Dang Doodle Tees, an e-commerce website that was connected to a print-on-demand platform. My intention was to design original, music-themed apparel for sale to musicians and music fans.

The Challenge

In March of 2020, everything shut down due to Covid…

I decided to switch gears and volunteer my services to touring musicians by designing custom apparel for them and then setting up free e-commerce web pages on the website.

Word spread fast in the community, and before long there were nearly 100 musicians, from around the world, selling merchandise on the website.

 

I was creating custom designs for the merch, setting up store pages that included short bios and links to their own websites, and also setting up the print-on-demand apparel and merch at different price points.

 

In order to generate awareness and support for the musicians’ stores, I developed and executed cross-platform marketing campaigns, e-mail campaigns, and produced live streaming music events.

There are still nearly 100 musicians selling merchandise on the site, with sales generated every week.

 

To date, I’ve helped raise over $90k in support of musicians.
