The backstory

Working as a freelancer during the early 2000’s, I was hired by Damon Jackson (a local design agency) to develop a custom illustration for a logo design they were working on for Owens Corning.

The rhino had to be eye-catching and appealing to people in the roofing industry. It had to look tough and durable like the product but also have a clean style that would be easy to reproduce in various formats.

Starting out with hand-drawn sketches, I narrowed down some ideas that had potential. Some were just heads and some were full bodies. Then I developed each one digitally and gave them a smooth and clean style.

The final version was selected and I supplied it in various formats. The same illustration is still being incorporated into the logo to this day.
